The US Embassy requires International Students to show that they have medical insurance. You may submit proof of medical insurance or purchase a medical insurance policy from American English College for the following prices. |

Housing Information:
American English College selects reviews and approves all host families from the most pleasant and cooperative of the local citizenry, all eager to welcome foreign students to the community. What a wonderful opportunity to meet typical American families, practice English, and learn about American culture at its source! To apply, there is a Housing Placement fee of $150. Homestay with meals is from $745 to $845 per month. Homestay without meals is from $495 to $595 per month. All housing accommodations are required to pay a Security Deposit of $200. If there are no damages or extra charges incurred, this Security Deposit will be refunded within 30 days after the student has moved out.
Motels Hotels or motels are within walking distance or a short bus ride from school. The cost of accommodations is about $450 to $650 per week.
Location, Transportation, & Activities The City of Monterey Park is a safe, middle class suburb located approximately 9 miles east of downtown Los Angeles and about 30 minutes from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) by car. It has a large, diverse immigrant population. The climate is mild year round. Local bus service is available, Airport pickup or drop-off fee is $65 each way, Quarterly field trips and cultural activities are sponsored by the school. |
